Rate Increase

It was discussed at the town council meeting that Mountain View Water Department has implemented a 3% rate increase due to their rate study.  The increase is passed from Fifty Six Water System to it's customers, HOWEVER, Resolution 95 was passed in March 2018 stating Fifty Six Water System will have a yearly increase of 3%. This 3% was applied in January of 2025.  The recent rate study calls for an increase of 1.12% a year.  The rate study stands in place of resolution 95.  The 3% increase required for the Mtn View increase is not needed since there was a 3% increase in January. October 2025 will mark the 1 year time frame for the 1.12% increase from Fifty Six's rate study, at that time that increase will take place.  Moving forward, there will be a 1.12% increase every year in October until the next rate study is conducted.  There will also be an increase in rates when Mountain View raises their rates again.  Mountain View does not have a yearly rate increase, they only raise according to their rate study.
